CCTV/Observation cameras utilise standard Category 5e structured cable which is punched down to the modular patch panel on the swing frame within the chassis.
As with the data and telephone services, the CCTV/Observation cameras are also star wired. Black & white and colour cameras are available, both with sound. Movement detection and VCR triggering versions are also available.
The cameras are patched with a patch cord to an optional four-way switcher. The switcher allows up to four cameras to be connected. The switcher can operate in three modes:
- Cycle each connected camera is viewed in turn
- Cycle + trigger as above but when one of the cameras sensors movement it will take priority and switch to that particular camera
- Trigger only where it will only switch to the camera that last had any movement.
The output of the switcher is then passed to a modulator via a Category 5e patch cord. Setting of the UHF TV channel on the modulator is carried out by DIP switches. The output of the modulator is then transferred to the TV distribution unit via CT100 Coaxial cable.
All connected TVs can then be tuned to the UHF TV channel and images viewed.
