Between 1 and 4 cameras can be utilised by a single switcher unit (HC CCTV 04SWITCHER). The switcher switches between each camera in turn or switches to an activated camera. The output of the switcher is then fed into a modulator (HC SP MODULATOR) which in turn gets distributed by the TV system. If more than 4 cameras are required an additional HC CCTV 04SWITCHER must be used. The switcher and modulator are powered by a single power supply which is included with the modulator.
We have four camera kits available:
HC CCTV OB2 – 2 camera observation pack - Black and White
HC CCTV OC2 – 2 camera observation pack - Colour
Each of the observation packs include a switcher (HC CCTV 04SWITCHER) and a modulator (HC SP MODULATOR). The cameras feature a PIR movement detector.
HC CCTV SB2 – 2 camera security pack - Black and White
HC CCTV SC2 – 2 camera security pack - Colour
Each of the security packs include a switcher (HC CCTV 400SWITCHER) and a modulator (HC SP MODULATOR). The HC CCTV 400SWITCHER controls a recording device e.g. a video recorder, which will record images once triggered. The cameras feature a PIR movement detector.
The cameras are suitable for both internal and external use.
Yes providing the camera signal is modulated on a clear channel and distributed by the TV system. TV’s can then be tuned into this channel and view the cameras connected. If you desire individual cameras on separate channels then an extra modulator (HC SP MODULATOR) must be used for each camera signal and positioned on differing UHF channels.
What are the differences between the standard HC CCTV 04SWITCHER and the HC CCTV 400SWITCHER and HC CCTV 800SWITCHER?
The CCTV 04SWITCHER is a standard 4 camera switcher. The HC CCTV 400SWITCHER (4 camera) and HC CCTV 800SWITCHER (8 camera) operate the same way but also feature control of a recording device e.g. a video recorder to record the triggered camera images.
Yes. Either the HC CCTV 400SWITCHER or HC CCTV 800SWITCHER can be used. The CCTV 400SWITCHER caters for 4 separate camera feeds and triggers a recording device e.g. a video recorder to record the camera images. The HC CCTV 800SWITCHER caters for 8 separate camera feeds and triggers a recording device e.g. a video recorder to record the camera images.
Yes. All cameras have a built in microphone.
Standard Category 5e cable is to be used from the camera back to the Home Network Sciences Chassis. From the terminated patch panel the supplied patch cord is used to connect the camera feed to the switcher and/or modulator.
The Category 5e cable is terminated by screw terminals inside each camera. The Home Network Sciences patch panel utilises standard IDC punch down blocks. Click here for wiring diagram.
If you desire individual cameras on separate channels then an extra modulator (HC SP MODULATOR) must be used for each camera signal and positioned on differing UHF channels. Providing each camera signal is modulated on a clear channel and distributed by the TV system. All TV’s can then be tuned into this channel and view the cameras connected.
The 12v power required by each camera is supplied via the Category 5e cable from the switcher or modulator power supply.
